Since more than ten years, regular workshops for the software package ARB and SILVA are offered by the ARB/SILVA Team in Bremen.

We are in close contact to the ARB development team around Dr. Wolfgang Ludwig since the early years of ARB and represent the official lead testers of the ARB software suite. The SILVA databases (the official ARB databases) represent the latest joined project of the MPI Bremen, Ribocon, and the TU Munich.

Besides a detailed introduction to the concept of ARB, the workshops also include the theory of phylogenetic analysis and probe design as well as extensive demonstrations and hands-on tutorials.

 
The regular ARB/SILVA workshops are held in Bremen, Germany and are offered at least once a year.

Since 2005 they are operated by the company Ribocon which also offers custom-tailored, on-site workshops due to the high request for ARB/SILVA training.

In the last 5 years, more than 100 users from 18 different countries and all 5 continents have been thought by our experts in the regular 4 day workshops, plus nearly 150 users within our 2-3 day on-site tutorials.
