Survey on Contextual Data Fields

Dear ribosomal RNA community,

there is an increasing demand for additional contextual data fields associated with our rich amount of sequence information. For our genome and metagenome collection this has been recently tackled by the Genomic Standards Consortium, an international collaboration of all main database providers and sequencing centers.

To help us in extending this approach to the rRNA world we would appreciate, if you could take part in this survey and tell us which additional contextual data fields would be most useful for you.

The results have been carefully analysed for a special session on ribosomal RNA in the GSC meeting in October 2008.  All results and the current status of MIENS for rRNAs can be found here.
