Great news today! SILVA is now part of the integrated data platform DSMZ Digital Diversity. This cooperation will guaranty the long-term sustainability of SILVA. We are now entering a transition phase to migrate SILVA to our new host the Leibniz-Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures, which is one of the largest biological resource centers worldwide.[more]

For the last 12 years, SILVA has been hosting 'The All-Species Living Tree' project (LTP). With their newest release (LTP_2020), the LTP team has decided to host the project on their own website. The SILVA team will continue to integrate the LTP taxonomy and classifications into the SILVA releases. We wish the LTP team all the best at their new home.

We have updated our amplicon analysis pipeline SILVAngs to SILVA release 138.1.
SILVA 138.1 is an update of the SSU 138 full release providing corrections to the SILVA SSU taxonomy as well as updating the LSU sequence data and taxonomy to match the SSU release.
SILVAngs will be updated to 138.1 early next week.
