Today we finally release a major update for TestProbe and the SINA aligner. We also refactored the way the submitted jobs are controlled by implementing a "TaskManager" and fixed some bugs to generally improve the speed and quality of service SILVA provides.

    What has changed:
  1. The Aligner web frontend has been refactored, it got a clear new look with dedicated sections. We added a table where the alignment scores and classifications are displayed. All shown data shown can also be downloaded in CSV format. You can find an updated Opens internal link in current windowSINA Tutorial here.
  2. The Aligner web frontend now uses SINA 1.2.11.
  3. TestProbe and TestPrime got some significant performance enhancements which results in less waiting times and more interactivity for our users.
  4. The TestProbe web frontend has been refactored with a new programming framework which brings TestProbe on the same or even more advanced level than TestPrime. Find the updated Opens internal link in current windowTestProbe documentation here.
  5. The pie charts displayed in TestProbe and the Taxonomy Browser are now rendered with SVG instead of Adobe Flash (please update to Internet Explorer >=9 if you encounter problems). TestPrime will be soon updated accordingly.
  6. The TaskManager provides direct access to enhanced functionalities for the submitted jobs. TestProbe TaskManager example:
    • left orange box: standard buttons - available for all jobs.
    • right orange box: dynamic buttons - availability depends on the job selected.
  7. The TaskManager allows sharing your submitted jobs with other users by sending the link that is displayed in "Job share link". After opening the given link in the browser the job is added to your TaskManager like any of your otehr jobs submitted. The generated link is static and does never change, so it's accessable for several of users. Every job has a lifetime of 1 week, after this time period the job is removed from our servers.

Like always we're happy about feedback on any problems your may encounter.
